Free postcard to soldiers in Iraq Dear Viewers; This is an email that I received which describes something you may want to participate in. If you go to this web site, www.letssaythanks.com you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it, and it will be sent to a soldier that is
currently serving in Iraq . You can't pick out who gets it, but it will
go to some member of the armed services. How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!! Dave Uphoff MinonkTalk Class of 81 reunion followup

James Renken Where is the Jumbo?
I was just reading about the nature trail around the jumbo are was
shocked when I saw the pictures! WHERE IS THE JUMBO????? It has been a
long time since I was in that area, but all I can see in these pictures
is a small grass hill. Growing up in Minonk, climbing the jumbo at
least once was almost required! We didn't sit around playing video
games and instant messaging--we rode our bikes out to the jumbo and
climbed it! Some of us spend hours and hours up there every summer.
It's kind of sad to see a literal childhood monument gone! I agree that
the city needs to claim and preserve what's left of this area! There is
so much history there for those of us who grew up in Minonk. Teresa (Hinkle) McKenzie Charlotte, NC

Thanks to supporters of Christmas Walk
The 4th of July Committee would like to THANK everyone for attending
and especially the homeowners, Sean and Christine Cunningham, Gerry and
Caroline Glowacki, Jay and Donis Klein, Marc and Fran Durre and Bob and
Pat White, for all of their hard work to make their homes look really
beautiful for the Christmas House Walk this year. We had a really good
turn out and hope to have another Christmas House Walk next year. We
hope that everyone that attended had a good time and enjoyed looking at
all the truly wonderful homes. We appreciate everyone that attended as
all of the proceeds will go towards the fireworks celebration this next
year. Thanks again to everyone who participated. Cathy McKay and Sue Park Fieldcrest Christmas concert
