Minonk to Peoria St. Jude Team collecting donations for Bingo Night

We're starting to collect donations for our 2nd Annual Bingo Night Fundraiser for the Minonk to Peoria St. Jude Run Team. We are in need of items or gift certificates to be used for bingo prizes and raffles. Monetary gifts are also welcome. Thanks to many generous individuals and businesses last year we were able to raise $5,200 at this event that went towards our team total of raising $61,000 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. This year our goal is $75,000 so we're going to try to make our Bingo Night even bigger and better! It will be held at the Rutland Legion on Saturday April 6th. We would like to have all donations by March 1st, so if you have anything to give or any questions on how you can help, please call or send me a message. (309)432-2139 sonjagregg@frontier.com Thank you for supporting our team and the kids of St. Jude!

St. Paul's Carillon Fundraiser

St. Paul's Church would like to thank everyone who donated to the Carillon Fundraiser. In only one month enough money was raised to replace our broken Carillon system. This is an example of how a small town like Minonk will pull together when something is needed. Many of the donations came from former residents of Minonk who have fond memories of hearing the chimes play.

A special "Thanks" to Dave Uphoff for his helped by posting editorials on Minonk Talk.
Thanks to all the generous donations. We soon will be hearing the chimes play again.

re: Gertie Fortman Kelm

I saw a message regarding my mother,Gertie Fortman Kelm. I know a few things about her parents. Her father was John Fortman. He was from Hartsburg, IL. My grandmother was Katie Antons Fortman. My grandmother had only one sister, Tena Eden, but my grandfather had several brothers and sisters. My email is bill.beverley@frontier.com

Gertie Fortman Kelm

I believe Gertie was my grandfathers cousin. I would like to see if Ilene Beverley could perhaps verify some family geneology for me . Thanks .....jackfortman@yahoo.com

Thank you to community

The volunteers of the Minonk Township Food Pantry wish to thank the community for their generosity this past year and especially during the Christmas season. Many of you have donated food and money. Also, many in the community have placed used clothing and shoes in the USAgain receptacles. Some of you may not be aware that the USAgain Company pays an amount per pound with proceeds split between the school and the pantry. Thank you for your continuing support!
