Donis Diane (Block) Klein, 70, of Minonk, returned home on the wings of angels to be with God on Thursday (May 24, 2018). Her memorial service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Minonk, with Pastor Joy Miller officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, Minonk.

Inurnment will be in Minonk Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or American Cancer Society.

Donis was born July 12, 1947, to Clarence and Dolores Block of Minonk. She married the love of her life, Julius "Jay" Klein, on June 5, 1965, in El Paso. They grew their family and built their home in Minonk, where they raised their three children, who later blessed them with six grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Jay Klein, Minonk; son, Kevin (Christina) Klein, East Peoria; daughter, Charee (Jeffrey) Klimek, Western Springs; grandchildren, Renae (Brandon) Kirkton, Zach (Kendyll) Kirkton, Brittany Klimek, Kailyn Klein, Kyrie Klein and Fox Millikin; sister, Evon (Larry) Meierhofer, Secor; and brother, Cary Block, Rutland.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Kimberly Klein.

Donis' entrepreneurial spirit allowed her to create and grow many businesses in the community. Additionally, she enjoyed serving her community for many years at the Country Florist and Filger Public Library. She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

She enjoyed traveling the world and gardening with her husband, as well as researching her family history. She loved sharing those stories with her children and grandchildren. As the matriarch of her family, her life was centered around them. She shared her passions, talents, and love of life with friends and family.

Donis' spirit continues to inspire the lives of those whom she's touched.
