Obituary: Myra Edna Cufaude, 91 - August 14, 2018
Myra Edna Cufaude, nee Danforth, 91, of Minonk, passed away at home Tuesday (Aug. 14, 2018), surrounded by family, following a battle with liver cancer.

Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk, with the Rev. Kenneth Harris officiating. Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday. Interment will follow at Minonk Township Cemetery.

Myra was born Jan. 17, 1927, to Ethel and Carlton Danforth. Myra spent her childhood and teenage years in Minonk, where she met Robert G. Cufaude. Bob and Myra were high school sweethearts and married on Aug. 28, 1949.

They relocated to Glen Ellyn, and lived there until 1994 when they returned to Minonk upon retirement. After retirement, Bob and Myra enjoyed wintering in Mesa, Ariz., for many years.

Myra was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her parents; her brothers, Gordon and Bruce; and her son, Gary.

Myra was the loving mother of Sandra Villegas, Dennis (Julie) and daughter-in-law, Donna Cufaude; dear grandmother of Brenda and Roy Villegas, and Alan, Cherie, Brittany and Courtney Cufaude; great-grandmother of seven.

Myra was an active parishioner of United Methodist Church, Minonk, and also volunteered at Heritage Health nursing home.

Myra was a very loving and giving person and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
