Minonk High School Memorial 1919
for Veterans of World War 1


ROWLAND H. TUCKER

Rowland Tucker entered Minonk High School in 1910, and graduated in 1914. He enlisted in the U.S.N. Aviation Service on June 5, 1918, at Great Lakes. His detention period was spent in Camp Decatur, Co. 283, 8th Regiment. He attended the Naval Aviation School from September 13 to December 15, 1918, and graduated receiving a 2nd class machinist's aviation rating. He was discharged January 17, 1919.

OSCAR KING

Oscar King attended the Minonk High School from 1911 to 1915. He graduated with the class of 1915 at the age of 18. He enlisted as 2nd class seaman at Great Lakes Naval Training Station, May 23, 1918. Oscar was stationed in different camps at Great Lakes. He was in Camp Farragut four days and then in Co. R. and Co. J. 1st Regiment, Camp Dewey. In the latter Company he acted as camp guard during July. In September he was transferred to Co. D, Coxswain School, 11th Regiment and in a few weeks to Co. C, of same regiment. He finished Coxswain School with rank of Coxswain. Oscar was discharged December 17, 1918.
