Royal Theatre

The Royal Theatre was located on the 100 block of West Fifth Street where the Minonk Community Bank is now located. The theatre had a capacity of 360 seats and showed silent films and later movies from 1915 until 1938 when the owners of the theatre, Bailey Enterprises of Princeton, IL, moved their theatre operations to the new Minonk Theatre located in the 400 block of Oak Street. The theatre later was converted into apartments in the 1940's. In the 1960's the building was demolished to make way for the new Minonk State Bank building.
