The City of Minonk announced that it will retain approximately 53 acres of land being purchased from Waste Management of Illinois in Section 6 north of the city limits. 545 acres in the section will be sold in sealed bids. Shown below is the planned use of the parcels of land to be retained by the City. Each tract is identified in the map below.

Area north of Minonk Township Cemetery which the City will convey to Minonk Township as additional area for the cemetery

Area to be retained by City of Minonk for future Nature Trail. This area will contain a nature trail that starts at the south end of Section 6 and proceeds north and crossing the Jumbo. In addition, 2 ponds located south of the Jumbo will be developed for recreational purposes.

Tract 5 includes the Jumbo which will become part of the future Nature Trail

Sealed bids must be submitted on a form provided by City and are due by 4 PM on January 18, 2010
