Historic Minonk Bar sold

Another artifact from Minonk's past is now gone. The building that has housed a tavern for over 120 years is no longer a bar. The tavern situated at the alley on Fifth street between Chestnut and Walnut streets has closed and sold its historic bar to a group that plans to install the bar at a railroad museum in Union, IL.
Among the many taverns that have occupied the building since the late 1890's are Ryan's Saloon run by "Tonica" Ryan, Ketchy's Tavern, Copp's Tavern, Hank's Place, The Alley Saloon, Third Base Tap, and Circle J Saloon. Below are pictures of the exterior and former interior of the building.

Below are pictures of the bar being dismantled and trucked away. Pictures courtesy of Jari Lynn Oncken.
