Village-Aires Fall Christmas Concert

Christmas is coming to town as the Village-Aires present their winter concert "In Search of the Christmas Star" on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at 3 p.m. Both concerts will be held at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 236 W. 5th St., in Minonk, IL. There will be no intermission. Tickets purchased in advance are $5.00 for adults. At the door they are $6.00. Student tickets are $2.00.
After we find the "Christmas Star," we need to respond to it. This year we are asking you to help us support the Minonk Food Pantry. You may bring your food items to the concert and place them in the boxes provided in the entrance.
As we continue to "Search for the Christmas Star" in the second half of the concert, we discover that we find it in the Son of Mary as the women sing "The Manger Throne" and "One Bright Star." The men also point us to that Star as they sing "Way Down in Bethlehem." In response to this star we bring our food pantry items to help other people as the Village-Aires sing "March of the Christmas Children."
"God Bless Us Everyone," "On This Night," "There Is A Great Joy Coming," "Holy Child," "The Light Come Down," "A Celtic Silent Night," and "Christmas Tidings," express the peace, joy, and love we have when we find this "Christmas Star."
Members of the Village-Aires are: Leah Bown, Teresa Cirks, Loretta Hunt, Vickie Manley, Lynn Manning, Patsy May, Bev Meyer, Shirley Missey, Nancy Redenius, Kathy Saad, Niki Bohler, Debby Cargill, Joan Jochums, Jean Keck, Donna Leonard, Marylu Pille, Janet Redenius, Jack Jochums, Dick Leonard, Russ McCulley, Joel Jochums, Russ McMullen, Jim Meyer, and Don Oesch. Elaine Cunningham is the director.
