It is time to get in the mood for Christmas.  What better way than to hear the Village-Aires Christmas concert, “A Time for Joy.”  The concert will be presented on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, November 22, 2009  at 3 p.m.  Since there is repair work being done in the gym at Fieldcrest High School,  the concert will be held this year at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ at 236 W. 5th St. in Minonk, IL.  Restrooms will be available down stairs before and after the show.  These are handicap accessible.  Also, there will be no intermission during this concert.

Christmas is a joyous time of the year and the Village-Aires will start out their concert with a joyful tune called “A Time for Joy.”  It wouldn’t be a Christmas concert without that popular song “White Christmas.”  The men's chorus will put some joy into the concert as they sing “The Reindeer Twist.”   Plus it is a magical time of the year when we ride “The Polar Express.”  

Our faith also brings us much joy as we celebrate the birth of Christ.  “Unspeakable Joy” speaks to us about the birth of Christ.  We will also learn what Mary pondered in her heart before the birth of Christ as the group sings “Mary’s Dream.”  We hear the response of the shepherds as they learn of the Messiah’s birth in “Come and See What’s Happenin’ in the Barn.”  The wise men sought out Jesus as we still do today as we learn inn the song “Wise Men Still Seek Him.”
