Minonk’s First Annual Christmas House Walk is scheduled for Saturday,
December 9 from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. and is sponsored by the 4th of July
Committee. Have you ever driven by many of your friends and neighbors
homes and thought - that is a really beautifully decorated home for the
Christmas season well…here is your opportunity to tour some of those
homes and see how your friends and neighbors decorate.
The homes included in this year’s house walk are: Jay and Donis Klein,
107 Locust Street; Marc and Fran Durre, 128 Locust Street; Sean and
Christine Cunningham, 435 Locust Street; Gerald and Caroline Glowacki,
629 Locust Street; and Bob and Pat White, 102 Howard Drive.
Refreshments will be available at Bob and Pat Whites.
A ticket is required for entrance and please be prepared to
remove your shoes at each home, booties will be provided. We’d like to
thank St. Mary’s Hospital, Streator, Illinois for their most generous
donation of the booties for this event. Tickets will be available at:
Pop’s; Meyer-Jochums Insurance Agency; Cathy McKay 432-2605; Sue Park
432-3269; and each home owner will have tickets as well. The cost for a
ticket is $10 and the proceeds will go towards the 4th of July
fireworks/equipment. The 4th of July Committee, for liability purposes,
will not be selling tickets to or for children under 10.
Donations for this event that would be very welcome are
Christmas cookies/desserts for our refreshments, and plastic bags for
the shoes at each home. If you would like to assist us please contact
