Park Benches Donated to Westside Park

Tuesday, November 03, 2009 - Posted 2:52:30 PM
Pictured below from the left is Irma Tjaden of CAL , Dave Uphoff of CAL, MDR Class of 1959, and the Pavilion Committee, and Jerri Sue Johnson of the Pavilion Committee.

Members of Citizens Action Committee (CAL), MDR Class of 1959, and the Westside Park Pavilion Committee combined their funds to donate 4 park benches to the Westside Park.

The 4 benches cost $1429.35 and effectively closes out the fund accounts for the groups involved. The benches are made from recycled rubber to reduce maintenance cost and should last 30 years.

Minonk Public Works employees placed the benches in concrete pads to ensure they will not be moved or stolen. Two benches are placed along the sidewalk between the pavilion and the gazebo, one is placed next to the children's swings and one is placed alongside the basketball courts.

Below is the park bench placed next to the basketball court.  Two of the benches are shown in the left of the picture.
