
Mohammed Shriners Host Screening Clinic for Orthopedic Conditions and more

PEORIA, IL – The Mohammed Shriners of Peoria today announced they will hold a Screening Clinic for Shriners Hospitals for Children. The clinic will be held at Proctor Hospital, 5409 North Knoxville Avenue, Peoria,from 8 a.m. until Noon. Parents and guardians of children who might benefit from the services provided by Shriners Hospitals for Children are invited to this FREE screening and evaluation clinic.
Doctors will be available to screen patients for conditions treated at Shriners Hospitals for Children in either Chicago or St. Louis. Shriners Hospitals for Children provide treatment for children up to age of 18 with orthopedic conditions, spinal cord injuries, cleft lip and palate, and burns.
"Children eligible for care will receive all services, in a family centered environment, regardless of the patient's ability to pay", said Gary McDaniels, Potentate (president) of Mohammed Shriners in Peoria. "Our Shriners Hospitals provide the best care available anywhere and we really want to help wherever we can", he added.
Proctor Hospital is also the location where Shriners Hospitals for Children Telemedicine services are provided between Peoria and Shriners Hospitals for Children in St. Louis, Chicago and Cincinnati. Mohammed Shriners also provide free lodging and transportation to the hospitals for all patients and parents.
