Minonk Successful Farmers Begin New 4-H Year.

Minonk Successful Farmers Hold First Meeting
 


The first meeting of the 4-H club Minonk Successful Farmers was held at 10:30, September 23, 2005 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Minonk.
After the meeting was called to order, the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Saireena Montgomery.  The 4-H Pledge was led by Shary Jenkins.
The club welcomed a new member, Katie Szynalski. 
Old business:  Woodford County 4-H Fair.  Members congratulated one another for success at the fair, and discussed how they felt about judging.  Christal Jenkins was acknowledged for her Superior rating at the Illinois State Fair in August. 
New business: 
1.) Bake Sale- The club will hold a Bake Sale on Saturday, October 8 from 8:30 am to 10:30 am at the Rutland Post Office.  This has become a tradition for the club, as Bake Sale coordinator Trina Montgomery reported on success of previous bake sales held in Rutland.   
2.) Fieldtrip- The club will be taking a fieldtrip sometime this next month to either Tanner's Orchard or Jone's Pumpkin Patch for their Fall event.  Plans will be finalized by the Bake Sale. 
3.) T-shirts- Shirts for new members was discussed.  New shirts designs may be possible, and members were encouraged to come to the next meeting with ideas about this. 
4.) Meeting times this year will begin at 10 am.
5) Elections were held for club office positions.  Congratulations to the following who were elected--
Garrett Mattox, President;
KaTesa Montgomery- Vice President;
Miranda Jenkins- Secretary;
Saireena Montgomery- Treasurer;
Christal Jenkins- Reporter
The club also elected a recreation committee, and is as follows--
Kenny Jenkins, Jessika Lowery, Mackenzie Mattox. 
Shary Jenkins was elected to chair this committee.
