
Donations in the form of 30,000 pounds of aluminum, 2,000 new books for, children, and countless volunteer hours later, 16-year-old Toluca, IL resident and Eagle Scout Tayler McGillis, was named the Boy Scouts of America Central Region's representative for the National Hall of Leadership for making a significant difference in the life of another by the extraordinary service he has given ... and the Scouting virtues he has modeled. The National Hall of Leadership is one of a number of Boy Scout of America's 100th Anniversary programs designed to invite people across the country to join in and celebrate the Boy Scouts of America's first century of service to’ America’s youth. Tayler and' each person named' to the National Hall of Leadership will have their name recorded as part of the BSA's 100th Anniversary archives at the National Scouting' museum in
Irving, TX.,
Tayler represented nearly 300 Scouts and Scout leaders of all ages from various BSA councils across the country at an induction ceremony in Washington, DC on Sun. July 25, 2010. As an active member of Troop 0727 in Wenona, IL and Peoria's W.D. Boyce Council, Tayler was nominated by his council for his outstanding service to his neighbors, friends, and communities.
