Minonk bans outdoor burning Wednesday, July 18, 2012 - Posted 3:52:29 PM Mayor Bill Koos announced that all outdoor burning will be banned in Minonk starting Friday morning, July 20.  The ban will continue until further notice. Cooking on outdoor grills using charcoal or gas will still be allowed but the Mayor stressed caution should be taken when doing outdoor grilling.  The ban is necessitated by the extreme hot and dry conditions that have existed for the last 2 months.
