Public Works Employment The City of Minonk is accepting applications for full time employment as a laborer in the public works department.
Applications may be picked up at Minonk City Hall, 670 Chestnut Street Minonk Il. 61760, during regular business hours, 8-12, 1-5, M-F.
All applicants must complete and submit a City of Minonk employment application form. Applicant must have a valid drivers' license. Also, the ability to obtain Class B CDL, and Illinois Department of Agriculture Pesticide license within 6 months of hiring date. High school diploma or equivalent is also required.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the operation of gravel trucks, backhoe, skid loader and other city equipment to assist in road repairs, water and sewer line repairs, cement work, and tree service. Must be able to lift 50lbs on a regular basis and manually repair water and sewer lines safely in trenches under extreme weather or difficult site conditions. Must have basic knowledge of computers and their function. Overtime and weekend chore rotation is required. Mechanical and general maintenance experience such as plumbing, electrical, building trades is a plus but not required. This position will be under the supervision of the Public Works Supervisor.
Hourly wage will be commensurate with experience.
Upon selection applicant will be required to pass a comprehensive physical and drug test.
