Dr. Naik to set up new office in Minonk
Friday, July 06, 2012 - Posted 3:55:48 PM by Dave Uphoff
Dr. Paul Naik wants to make Minonk the dental center for
Central Illinois. Dr. Naik plans on bringing in 2 more dentists into his
office and opening up a new state of the art dental office in Minonk before the
end of the year.
The ambitious plan has its origins in the great Minonk
fire of October, 2011, in which his dentist office was destroyed in the
fire. Dr. Naik lost most of his equipment in that fire and relocated his
office to a satellite office in Toluca, ten miles away. Dr. Naik realized
the Toluca office could not handle the patient load. Being a dentist in
Minonk for 34 years, Dr. Naik decided he needed either to expand his
office or retire. However, he loves his work too much to retire. So
he made the momentous decision to re-open a new office in Minonk and bring in
more dentists to help him with the patient load.
Dr.
Patrick Hamper and his wife
Stephanie, both of whom are dentists, graduates of Southern Illinois
school of Dentistry will join his staff later this year.
Dr.Patrick and Dr. Stephanie Hamper are currently practicing in Hawaii and will
be relocating to Minonk. Dr. Patrick Hamper is originally from Aurora
and
his wife Stephanie is from rural Decatur area. In addition to providing
general dental care, Dr. Patrick Hamper is undertaking training to be a
board certified Implant Dentist.and Stephanie has great liking to
pediatric dentistry Their expertise will provide specialized dental
care
that allows patients to get the proper dental treatment locally rather
than
going to Bloomington or Peoria.
Dr. Naik said he is close
to settling on getting a new office established in Minonk and will make an
announcement soon. He plans on installing state of the art equipment in
the new office and will have all patient records and x-rays computerized so that
the Toluca and Minonk offices can share information over the internet. The
new building will be on one floor with handicap access and adequate parking space. Their
telephone number will still be 309-432-2833. One of the three dentists will be on
call 24 hours a day to take care of emergencies.
In
preparation for the
opening of the new office in Minonk, Dr. Naik will be hiring experienced
hygienist and other staff members to join his existing staff that
includes long time employees Fern
Schleuter, who has been with Dr. Naik from the start for 32 years, and
Sherry
Tarman, who has been with Dr. Naik for 25 years.
In August, Dr. Patrick
Hamper and his wife Dr. Stephanie Hamper will be coming to Minonk to meet with
the community. Dr. Naik's decision to expand his dental business in Minonk
is the first sign of recovering from the great Minonk fire of October, 2012, and
the community is eagerly and appreciatively looking forward to his
return.
