Ditches filled with water in the countryside
3.5 inches of rain fell on the Minonk area Tuesday night.  There was a steady downpour for about 30 minutes before the rain let up.  The corner of Locust and East Fourth was again flooded with water as debris from the streets clogged the gutters.  Ponds were created in the farm fields and ditches and creeks were filled with water.   The rain came on top of .8 of an inch of rain from last week and a very wet spring leaving the ground saturated with water.
