The Minonk 4th of July event is scheduled for Friday, July 2rd through Sunday, July 4th at the various parks in town. Please be sure to check out the schedule for times and events.
On Friday, we kick off our event with the Beer Tent opening at 4 p.m. and then the Bag Tournament starting at 6 p.m. at Veteran’s Park. Later that evening “Sixth String Mafia” will be performing once again for us in the Beer Tent
On Saturday, the Craft Show/Flea Market will open our festivities at West Side Park at 9 a.m.. Kiddie Parade decorating is scheduled at 10 .m. and then many activities throughout the day – Chicken Dinner, Bocci Ball beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Minonk Lanes in downtown Minonk (sign up is at 12:30), Fun On The Run - inflatables, Bingo, Watermelon Eating Contest and Kids Games. If you have anyone who likes “American Girl” dolls there will be an opportunity to purchase chances to win at this time as well. The beer tent will open at 6 p.m. and “Gas Road Riot” will start playing at 9 p.m. for that evening’s entertainment
On Sunday, the Fourth of July, the Kiddie Parade will take off at 12:45 while the main parade is scheduled for 1 p.m. The theme this year is "Salute To Volunteers". After the parade you are invited to come and enjoy the Car Show and Tractor Show at Millennia Park with many antique and classic vehicles coming to town for these events.
Later on that evening at Sutton’s Park come and enjoy the Cake Walk, always a fun event, lots of cakes are given away and feel free to purchase a pork chop sandwich from the Ambulance Association. The entertainment on stage at Sutton’s Park will be "Borderline" returning again for this year. At dark you can enjoy watching the best firework’s display around.
