New elected officials were sworn into office at the Minonk Township monthly meeting at City Hall Monday night. Sworn in was Pat Copp as the new Minonk Township Supervisor who replaces retiring Supervisor Jim Meyer. Lanna Ruestman was sworn in as the new Township Clerk replacing outgoing Rich Luckey who held that position for over 10 years. Newly elected John Marcoline was sworn as a member of the Township Board along with incumbments Ron Seggerman, Larry Meils, Allen Rients, and Larry Meils. Marcoline replaces retiring Roger Janssen.
Retiring Township Supervisor Jim Meyer thanked all those who worked with him during his tenure. Meyer said the township board members have performed duties beyond those specified in the manual.
Meyer started as an auditor with the Minonk Township in 1959 working then with Merle McKee and Roger Tucker. Since then Meyer has been a stalwart member of the community serving, in addition to his duties as township clerk, as a member of the township board, as an alderman on the Minonk City Council and as Mayor of Minonk.
