Minonk Successful Farmers 4H club would like to announce that they are having their 3rd Annual "Day before Mother's Day" Bake Sale on Saturday, May 13th in Rutland.  This is a great opportunity to shower Mom with some sweets as there will be a large variety of goodies to choose from!  The Bake Sale will be held in front of the Rutland Post Office from 8 am until 10:30 AM.

Proceeds from this years Bake Sale are earmarked to go toward the new exhibitor building that is planned for the Woodford County Fairground.  There is a need for the new building at the fairground as "enrollment in 4-H has increased by approximately 10% during the past 3 years and now stands at nearly 500 youth. More members mean a need for more exhibitor space. . . .  In addition, non-animal projects have increased resulting in an overflow of our general projects building. A new building will eliminate tent rental expenses, allow for continued growth in the small animal and general projects areas, and open more space in existing buildings for swine and sheep."

An anonymous donor has pledged $30,000 of the $80,000 needed to begin construction on this building, and Woodford County 4H clubs have been challenged to raise funds as the Woodford County Home Extension Association has agreed to match any money the 4-H clubs donate up to $5,000.  Please help the Minonk Successful Farmers 4-H Club meet their goal by supporting their Bake Sale next Saturday.

Additionally, Minonk Successful Farmers 4-H is just 1 of 3 local 4H clubs.  Any donation made toward this new building would benefit local youths of today as well as the youth of tomorrow.  If you would like to make a contribution towards the new building on the behalf of your local 4H clubs, you may either send it to the extension office directly, or contact a local 4H leader.  Checks may be made payable to: UIF/Woodford County 4-H and Extension Fund.

Thank you for your support, and see you next Saturday!
