Black Partridge Chapter of DAR Sponsor Scholarship

Black Partridge Chapter of the Illinois Daughters of the American Revolution sponsored Tamra Edelman for a DAR scholarship. The chapter scholarship chairman is Mary Kay Harms. Tamra is a senior at Eureka High School and lives in rural Congerville, IL. Her parents are Keith and Nadine Edelman.

She is an excellent student who has completed courses at ICC during her junior and senior high school years. She has successfully finished the coursework for a Certified Nursing Assistant. She is employed part time at the Apostolic Christian Nursing Home of Eureka and OSF Hospital as an Emergency Department Technician. She will be attending Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing upon graduation.

Tamra is a member of the National Honor Society, Eureka High School Track and Field Team, and a member of 4-H. She has volunteered her time to victims of Hurricane Harvey, individuals in a homeless shelter, fund raising for St. Jude's Children's Hospital, helped with food drives, and Christmas caroling. Tamra is a member of the Eureka High School FFA where she has earned her Greenhand and Chapter Degrees. She, along with her church youth group, have completed mission trips to Magdalena, Mexico and to Les Cayes, Haiti.

Seven Illinois students were awarded scholarships for the coming year at the Illinois State Organization National Society Daughters of the American Revolution 127th State Conference at the Youth Day Awards Luncheon on Saturday, April 28, 2018, held at the Doubletree Conference Center in Bloomington, Illinois.
