Elaine Cunningham is the Director and
Accompanist for the Village-Aires.

Everyone likes to go to the movies; so, why not spend some time at the
Village-Aires spring concert as they present “Let’s Go To the Movies.” The
show will be presented on Saturday, May 2 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 3 at 3 p.m.
at the Fieldcrest H.S. Gym in Minonk, IL. Tickets may be purchased ahead of
time from a Village-Aires member for $5. The tickets are $6 at the
door.
Remember the westerns that use to be popular such as “Annie Get Your
Gun” and Tumbling Tumbleweeds?” Some songs from western movies you will hear
are “Tumbling Tumbleweeds,” “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head,” and “Doin’ What
Comes Natur’lly.” We can’t forget that Roy Rogers and Dale Evans famous song
“Happy Trails.”
You will also hear some songs that pop artists made famous
such as “Scarborough Fair,” “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” “Chicago is My Kind of
Town,” and “My Way.” Some other songs from movies that you will hear are:
“Johnny Be Goode,” “Somewhere Out There,” and “To Sir with Love.”

The Village-Aires is under the direction of Elaine Cunningham. Mary Lou
Pille is the choreographer.
