Local election results

One new member was elected to the Minonk City Council in Tuesday's general election.  David Jenkins ran unopposed in Ward 3 to replace outgoing Jason Buchanan who decided not to run for re-election.  Encumbents Sean Cunningham and Corey Ruestman also ran unopposed and were relected in Wards 1 and  2 respectively.    The final vote tallies were Cunningham - 52, Ruestman - 68, and Jenkins - 55.


Two new members were elected to the Fieldcrest Board of Education.  Scott Hillenburg of Minonk and Tim McNamara of Dana were newly elected while Board President Joe Kirkpatrick of Minonk was re-elected.  McNamara had served on previous Fieldcrest school boards.  The final vote tallies were Hillenburg - 611, McNamara - 505, Kirkpatrick - 491, and Joanna Milashoski of Minonk received 446 votes.  McNamara and Hillenburg replace outgoing Melinda Tiraboschi of Toluca and Jeff Pickard of Wenona.

Gary Wolf was elected to the Minonk Fire Protection District with 142 votes defeating
Donald Ragusa who had 133 votes.
