Village-Aires Spring Concert April 28-29

What does the soul mean to you? What kinds of music does your soul like? The Village-Aires will present their spring concert "A Journey for the Soul" as they bring to you different kinds of soul music that has come down over the years . The concerts will be on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at 3 p.m. The concerts will take place at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 236 W. 5th St., in Minonk, IL. You may use the door off the parking lot or the front door to enter the building. The building is handicap accessible. There will be no intermission. Tickets purchased in advance from members are $5.00 for adults. At the door they are $6.00. Student tickets are $2.00.
The Village-Aires will sing "Dancing in the Street" sung by Marvin Gaye, "I'll Be There" sung by The Jackson 5, and "As Time Goes by" sung by Frank Sinatra. Remember the Brothers of Rock and Roll – the Isley Brothers? The Village-Aires will perform their song "Twist and Shout." We can't forget the Beatles as the group sings "Yesterday." The women will also be performing "Queen of Soul" done by Aretha Franklin and "Heatwave" sung by Linda Ronstadt.
This is the 45th year that the Village-Aires have been putting on concerts. So, now is the time to get your tickets, sit back, relax, and remember these "Songs for the Soul" as the Village-Aires present "A Journey for the Soul."
