The Village-Aires "Fabulous 40th" show will highlight songs from the 40 years
of shows that they have put on in Minonk. The "Celebration" will take place on
Saturday, April 28 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 29 at 3 p.m. at the Fieldcrest
High School Gym. Tickets are $5 in advance and $6 at the door.
Some of the musical memories they will bring to you are songs from movies,
songs from the 50's and 60's, Disney songs, and sacred songs. Movie songs will
include "Charade," "Hernando's Hideaway" from the Pajama Game, "Unchained
Melody" from Ghost, and the women will sing "Puttin' On the Ritz." Remember the
50's and 60's? "The Best of Doo-Wop" will be sung by the men and the entire
Village-Aires group will sing "Back to the Fifties." Disney had some very
favorite songs such as "Mickey Mouse March," "Chim Chiminey," "Feed the Birds,"
and "Colors of the Wind." "He," "The Truth Shall Make You Free," and "Just a
Little Talk With Jesus" sung by the men's quartet will round out the sacred
numbers.
Since this is a celebration of 40 years, former Village-Aires members have
been invited back to join in singing "Let There Be Peace on Earth." The current
Village-Aires members are: Amber Andrews, Judy Bennington, Tiffany Bennington,
