The First Baptist Church of Minonk, IL is celebrating its 150th Anniversary on Sunday, April 20, 2008. The church was organized in 1858 by 13 original members. The first meetings were held in different sites around the community. The first Church structure was completed in 1864. This church was torn down and the present edifice was completed in 1908. Our beautiful stained glasses windows have been restored to their former glory.

The planning committee has planned several activities for Sunday, April 20th. The morning Worship service will begin at 10:30am. There will be a potluck/buffet meal provided after the service. Cost is $5/person and reservations are required. Reservations are due by 4/13. Potluck side dishes are requested, vegetables and salads. Bring your favorite recipe to share, also.

The afternoon Praise service will begin at 1:30pm. Many song favorites will be performed. Following this service, there will be a cake/punch/coffee reception at 2:15pm.

There will be a photo CD played throughout the afternoon with church memories. There will be displays set up with church historical information. A memory book of the Church and its history will be available for purchase.

If anyone has any memorabilia connected to the First Baptist Church of Minonk, please bring it with you on that day for display.

If you have any other information or you would like to share or would like more information, please call the church office at (309) 432-2900.
