Left:  Pictured is a proposed gazebo for the Westside Park.

The Westside Park Pavilion Committee is announcing a fund drive to build a gazebo on the site of the old bandstand.  Presently, there is a flower garden on the site which has been maintained by Mary Ford and Mary Hartzler.  The committee decided that the addition of the gazebo will complement the newly constructed pavilion and also serve as a sitting area close to the playground equipment.

Yoder Gazebos of Arthur, IL.  can provide a prefab gazebo for around $10,000.  However, the committee is considering other plans including the possibility of having the gazebo built by a local contractor.   The goal is to have the gazebo completed in time for the Fourth of July celebration this summer.

Those wishing to contribute to the construction of the new gazebo can make their donation with a check payable to the Community Action Fund.  The donations can be made either at the Alpha Community Bank at Minonk or to the fund chairperson below:
