CIty Administrator Elder Released

At a special city council meeting Monday night, the council approved a resignation agreement and general release between the City of Minonk and City Administrator Doug Elder. Elder's employment ended at 5:00 pm Monday. As part of the agreement he will receive regular salary payments through July 7, 2012 and is entitled to coverage of group health, dental and life insurance during that period.
Elder assumed his duties as City Administrator on July 6, 2009. The City Council approved a no confidence vote on his tenure at the last city council meeting. The reason cited for the no confidence vote was a break down in communications between the City Administrator and the City Council.
