SAR Good Citizen award announced at Fieldcrest HS

Fieldcrest High School's SAR Good Citizen winner is Taylor Nichols. Taylor is the daughter of Anne and Randy Nichols, Minonk, Illinois. The General Joseph Bartholomew Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, Bloomington Chapter, sponsor the 2012 SAR Citizenship/Scholarship Program for the 19 high schools in the McLean and Woodford Counties. Taylor will be honored at a luncheon on April 12, 2012 at the Bloomington Country Club sponsored by the General Joseph Bartholomew Chapter.
Taylor was selected by the FHS faculty and students because she has demonstrated the qualities of Dependability (which includes truthfulness, loyalty, and punctuality); Service (which includes cooperation, courtesy, and consideration of others); Leadership (which includes personality, self-control, and ability to assume responsibility); and Patriotism (which includes unselfish interest in family, school, community and nation).
Taylor has participated in several extracurricular activities during her four years at Fieldcrest High School. She has been participated in dance team, four years; Student Council, four years; National Honor Society, two years; Key Club, four years and Renaissance, four years. Taylor's leadership roles have included: Poms Captain for 2 years, Student Council President, National Honor Society Vice President, Girls State, and Discussion Group Leader at State Student Council Convention.
Taylor plans to attend Bradley University or University of Illinois Urbana/Champaign and major in advertising.
