The MinonkTalk website has a new format which we hope will enable viewers to navigate the web site more effectively. The web page is a little wider to accommodate some of the new features. In addition to the google map showing locations of viewers, a newsfeed has been added from Reuter News , the Pantagraph and from the Pew Center for the State of Illinois. Having these news feeds enables users to capture world, national and state news events easily from the MinonkTalk website. The news feed from the Pew Center for the State of Illinois is particularly interesting as it assembles articles pertaining to the state government in Springfield from news media across Illinois.Another added feature is a rotating picture gallery that enables viewers to randomly select pictures from the over 1500 photos stored on the MinonkTalk database. The photos will be a mixture from the present and from the past. To add an historical attraction, an event from Minonk's past that occurred on this week will be displayed each week. We think the random selection of articles from the past will stimulate interest in Minonk's history.

A link to a website displaying the paintings and watercolors that I have created over the past 45 years has been added. Most of the art work is for sale and the proceeds will be used to help with the expenses of running this website. A new format will enhance a web page but the true value in a web site is its content. I encourage our viewers to participate in making the MinonkTalk website more interesting by submitting your articles, emails, news items, stories, and photos. I am not a roving reporter and this web sites content is dependent on viewer input. This is our community's website and its value lies in its viewer's participation. We hope you enjoy the new MinonkTalk format and content. We will continue to add new features and techniques as time goes on and as technological advances occur.
