Terry Lee “Opa” Timmerman, 60, of Minonk passed away at 11:50 p.m. Friday (Aug. 22, 2008) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.
He was born on Nov. 19, 1947, in Pontiac, to Elmer and Irma Oncken Timmerman. He married Jane Repyak on July 2, 1966, in Minonk. She survives.
Other survivors include his mother, Irma Timmerman of Minonk; one son, Jason (Jodi) Timmerman and one daughter, Sheri (Dennis) Baker, both of Minonk; one sister, Donna (Ed) Wittenberg of Chicago; and five grandchildren, Ryan, Ben and Hannah Baker, and Nolan and Vada Timmerman.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Terry worked at Caterpillar in Pontiac for almost 30 years.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Minonk.
A celebration of life service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Minonk. Pastors Richard Olson, Ronald May and Harry Sanders will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour before the service Tuesday at the church. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk is handling arrangements.
Terry was loved so much by his family and friends but more than we can ever imagine by the Lord our God.
Terry loved golfing, fishing and running and spending time with his grandchildren.
