Robert Paul Schmidt, 69, a retired partner with Price Waterhouse LLC, died Thursday, May 22, in Scottsdale, AZ.

He married Carol Elizabeth Palmer February 5, 1961, in Minonk, IL. She survives, as do son Lee[wife Kristi] of Houston, TX; daughter Marla Larson [Mrs. Scott] of Spartanburg, SC, and four grandchildren: Teagan and Aidan Schmidt, and Cade and Reid Larson. Also surviving are two brothers, Harvard F. Schmidt of Loveland, CO, and H. Kenneth Schmidt of Indianapolis, IN.

Born July 9, 1938 in Kankakee, IL, to Howard Franklin and Esther Josephine Rase Schmidt, he grew up in Kankakee. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1960, where he was on the varsity basketball team.

A certified public accountant, he spent his entire career with Price Waterhouse, serving in the offices of Chicago, IL; South Bend, IN; Paris France; Milwaukee, WI; Toledo, OH, and New York, NY. The couple moved to Scottsdale following his retirement in 1993. He was active in community and church affairs throughout his lifetime.

Funeral services were held May 28, at Paradise Memorial Gardens, Scottsdale.
