EL PASO - Jacqueline Annette Ruestman, 42, El Paso, passed away at 10:44 p.m., Tuesday (June 17, 2008) at her residence with her family by her side. She was a patient, caring mother, and a treasured wife, sister, daughter and friend.
Her funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Father Roger Corpus, OSB, and Father Carl LoPresti will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso. Interment will be in the Minonk Township Cemetery.
She was born Aug. 14, 1965, in Bloomington, daughter of Jack J. and Sharon A. (Boian) Hoobler. She married Tim D. Ruestman on Aug. 10, 1991, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Chenoa. He survives.
Also surviving are her children, Jake, Max and Maddie Ruestman, all at home; her parents, Jack and Sharon Hoobler, Gridley; three sisters, Gina (Carl) Boudakian, Marlton, N.J.; Jenny (Ryan Kilpatrick) Hoobler, Chicago; and Jaimie (Zach Parker) Hoobler, Chicago; maternal grandmother, Genevieve Boian, Normal; father- and mother-in-law, Rodney and JoAnn Ruestman, Minonk; two sisters-in-law, Tracy (Dave) Harsted and Mindy (Scott) Johnson; three brothers-in-law, Randy (Christie) Ruestman, Russell (Lanna) Ruestman and Corey (Jaimie) Ruestman, all of Minonk; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, William Boian, and her paternal grandparents, Jake and Helen Hoobler.
Jackie graduated from Gridley High School in 1983. She then attended Eastern Illinois University, where she received her bachelor's degree in home economics in 1988. At Eastern Illinois, she was a member and vice president of the Sigma Kappa sorority.
A dietician, Jackie had formerly been employed by Meadows Mennonite Home in Chenoa and by the Eureka Community Hospital. She also worked for Tiny Town Nursery School in Gridley and the El Paso Journal. Jackie was a member of the Woodford County Republican Women's Committee.
She was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in El Paso, where she volunteered numerous hours. Jackie served as a Sunday school teacher and assisted with vacation Bible school. She enjoyed attending Bloomington-Normal Cursillo 845 in November of 2006.
Friends and family will remember Jackie as always putting the needs of others before her own. She loved to laugh and always wore a smile. Even through difficult times, she never complained. And purple was her favorite color.
