RUTLAND - Wesley D. Moritz, 73, of Rutland passed away at 6:40 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 24, 2015) at his home.

He was born March 6, 1941, in Benson to David and Cassie Reinken Moritz. He married Eileen Fechter on July 8, 1962, in Rutland. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Brad (Denise) Moritz, Minonk; two sisters, Betty Hodel, Roanoke, and Gloria (Don) Punke, Benson; one brother, David (Orpha) Moritz, Benson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Wesley was a supervisor for Knoedler's in Streator for many years before going to Anthony Lift Gates in Pontiac, where he retired as a supervisor in 2006.

Wesley enjoyed spending time with his family. He also loved to play poker and tinker around in his garage. Wesley was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Benson.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Benson. The Rev. Nathan Feig will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Cremation rites will be accorded. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk is assisting the family with arrangements. Private family burial of his ashes will at a later date in Minonk Township Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Benson or Prairie Heart Institute in Springfield.
