Judith Ann McNamara, 61, of Minonk, passed away 9:20 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 15, 2017) at OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Celebration of Judy's life will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Fieldcrest High School gymnasium, Minonk. A time for sharing will be at 7 p.m. All are invited to share.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Minonk. Father Patrick Greenough will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Judy McNamara Memorial Scholarship Fund for women's athletics at Fieldcrest High School.

Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Judy was born May 14, 1956, in Streator, to Joseph "Bud" and Vernalee M. "Susie" (Norton) McNamara.

Surviving are her mother, Susie, Minonk; her sisters, Susan McNamara, Bedford, Texas; Mary Joette Koziol, East Greenwich, R.I.; Connie (Curtis) Ketchmark, Minonk; two nieces, Katie (Marcus) Dittmer and Beth (Christopher) Brosnahan. Her father preceded her in death.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Minonk.

Judy graduated from Minonk-Dana-Rutland High School and Illinois State University. She played on ISU's softball and basketball teams and played semi-professional softball for many years. After graduation, she started teaching at Minonk-Dana-Rutland, now Fieldcrest High School. She was there from 1978 to 2011. After retirement, she still coached girls golf and drove a school bus for Fieldcrest. Judy also refereed basketball for many years.

She was a member of the ISU Alumni Association, Tall Oaks Country Club and bowled on the Scatter Pins Tuesday Ladies League.
