Donald A. Gaspardo, 75, of Minonk, passed away 10:27 a.m. Friday (May 11, 2018) at OSF HealthCare Saint James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.

His Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Minonk, with Franciscan friars officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday prior the service at the church. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, Minonk, is assisting the family with arrangements. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Minonk. Memorials may be directed to Knights of Columbus or a charity of the donor's choice.

Donald was born July 27, 1942, in Dana, a son to John and Margaret Sullivan Gaspardo. He married Carolyn Steinhilber on Aug. 14, 1971, in Minonk.

Surviving are his loving wife of 47 years, Carolyn Gaspardo, and a son, Joe (Kristy) Gaspardo, both of Minonk; two grandchildren, Brenna and Jaylen Gaspardo; two brothers, Thomas Gaspardo and Robert Prince Jr., both of Dana; and a sister, Kay (Howard) Knack, Minonk.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Ellen Marie; two brothers, John and Jim; and stepfather, Robert Prince Sr.

Donald was a lifetime farmer, also working at the Portable Elevator Co. and helping at Davis Bros. Excavating.

He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Minonk; Knights of Columbus Council 985; 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Council, Streator Assembly 2109; and Illinois Valley 2 Cylinder Club.
