Lucille M. "Lucy" Cummings, 85 - March 21, 2015

Lucille M. "Lucy" Cummings, 85, of Minonk, passed away at 6:37 p.m. Saturday (March 21, 2015) at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

She was born Feb. 21, 1930, in Minonk, to Leo J. and Bertha A. Rutkowski Glowacki. She married Russell E. Cummings on April 27, 1957, in Indian Head, Md. He passed away on July 17, 2004, in Minonk.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, John Glowacki.

Surviving are her children, Russell E. (Dorothy) Cummings II, Thorndale, Texas; Mary (Paul) Thompson, Bloomington; John (Lisa) Cummings, El Paso; and Vickie (Wayne) Meyer, LeRoy; one brother, Gerald (Caroline) Glowacki, Minonk; one sister-in-law, Joyce Glowacki, Rutland; 12 grandchildren, Russell III, Donna, Laurie, Rachael, Christopher, Tim, Matt, Amberlin, Emma, Nickelle, Trey and Colin; and six great-grandchildren.

Lucy was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Minonk. She was a former vice president of the Altar and Rosary Society, she taught catechism (CCD) classes for more than 20 years and sang in the choir. She was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars women's guild. She volunteered at Lida Home/Heritage Manor in Minonk for several years and was an avid bingo player. Her true love was her family. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Minonk. Franciscan friars will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Cremation will be accorded. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, Minonk, is in charge of arrangements. Burial of ashes will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Minonk.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
