Nothing was on the agenda at the Minonk City Council meeting Monday night. Alderman Nick Forini said EMS Chief Deb Stewart wants to pass out flyers advertising a "Health Wellness Thursday" that will take place every third Thursday of the month at the ambulance shed. The meetings will include free blood pressure tests plus the distribution of "Life Packets" that families can fill out with important medical information which can be attached to a refrigerator or other prominent spots for access in case of a medical emergency. Coffee and donuts will be served at the meetings.
In public comments, Dave Uphoff asked if the council has resolved the reduced water rate for the water park at the New Millennium Park. Mayor Koos said the council approved a lower water rate for the water park during the summer but no further rate reductions have been requested.
Alderwoman Julie Redenius said the City is looking for quality photos of Minonk that can be used in the City's new website.
City Administrator Gary Brennan said garbage collection will be done only on Fridays during the next two weeks during the holiday, skipping Thursdays.
Mayor Bill Koos wished everyone a Merry Christmas.
