The Minonk City Council approved an ordinance regulating the use of non-highway vehicles on the streets of Minonk. The ordinance was amended to include only golf carts. The golf cart must meet the requirements for a permit in order to travel on the streets of Minonk, except on Chestnut Street between 4th and 6th streets. Mayor Bill Koos emphasized the permits are granted to the operator of non-highway vehicles. If another person wishes to operate the same vehicle, they must also apply for a permit which includes proof of insurance and signing a waiver on liability. Also, the use of non-highway vehicles will be restricted during inclement weather.
