Deborah Phillips appointed new EMS Coordinator

New EMS Coordinator Deborah Phillips
The Minonk City Council approved the appointment of Deborah Phillips as the new EMS Coordinator. She replaces Deb Stuart who resigned from that position last month.
In other business the Council approved the appointment of Hollie Kearfott to the Parks and Recreation Board. Parks & Rec Chairman Nick Fiorini said there is still one vacancy on the Parks & Rec Board and anyone interested in being on the Board should contact him.
Mayor Bill Koos said he has Selected Leta Janssen to be the new City Clerk. Koos said she will be appointed when the new Council meets at the second session of the May 6 meeting.
The Council heard a first reading on an ordinance that would amend the City Liquor Ordinance. The amendment would lower the annual liquor fee from $500 to $250, remove the restriction on the number of class A liquor licenses and would delete the Special Holiday Closing clause from the liquor ordinance. The ordinance will be voted on at the next council meeting on May 6th.
The Council approved the Budget for Fiscal Year 2013 and approved an ordinance authorizing the sale or disposal of unnecessary or unsuitable city property. The items to be put on sale are listed below:

The Mayor received a notice from Mediacom notifying him of an increase in Mediacom's rates as of May 1, 2013 in which Family Cable will increase from $70.95 to $72.95 per month and the New Family Rate will increase from $70.95 to $75.01 per month.
Alderwoman Julie Redenius said volunteers are needed for the Fourth of July Committee. There will be a meeting at City Hall at 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 18th for new volunteers.
